Can I unlock the lock remotely?

No, the lock cannot be unlocked remotely. We can only unlock the lock remotely if we grant access to a user who is nearby.

Does the door lock automatically behind me?

Yes, it does! The Klitron device detects the door closing and automatically locks each time the door closes. (You can change this setting by adjusting the Auto-Lock function in the lock menu. In this case, the device will only lock if it receives a lock command from an authorized user).

How do I enable or disable the Klitron’s auto-lock system?

On the main screen, follow these steps:

Click on the three dots (…) on the right side to access the settings. In the second section, you can enable or disable the feature.

What do the different light color indicators on the Klitron button mean?

Green light -> Unlocked

Red light     -> Locked

Blue light    -> Open Bluetooth connection

What batteries should I use?

4 AA batteries, either alkaline or lithium. It’s essential that all batteries are new, of the same type, and the same brand. Under no circumstances should batteries from other devices or mixed new and old batteries be used.

When should I change the batteries?

When I see the battery icon on the app turning red.

What will happen if the batteries are not replaced and the Klitron is locked?

If the batteries are not replaced within a reasonable time after the battery indicator turns red, it will automatically unlock (Fail Safe).

Will the Klitron work if the batteries run out?

The Klitron will automatically unlock and remain in the unlocked state before the batteries fully drain.

If I change the batteries in the Klitron, will I need to reconfigure the phones or remotes and resend all eKeys?

No! All data and settings remain intact.

Can I see who enters or exits and when?

Yes. Check the Klitron’s history log. In fact, you can see exactly who locked or unlocked the device and when.

How can I change my account password?

In the second tab at the bottom of the app is the user profile. At the top of this tab, you’ll find the user information (Personal Information). Here, you’ll first enter your old password and then your new password twice.

Can I disable the beeping sound on the Klitron?

No.

What kind of door should I have?

The Klitron smart eLock can be fitted on any door regardless of its thickness.

What do I need to install the Klitron?

Nothing more than a drill with a 4mm drill bit and a Phillips screwdriver.

Do I need to have an internet connection to set up the Klitron?

Yes! The Klitron needs to be verified in the cloud. For this reason, you need access to the internet.

Can I reset the lock to its factory settings and make it as it was when I purchased it?

Yes! This can only be done by the administrator. Click on the three dots (…) on the right side to access the settings. At the bottom, you’ll find Advanced Settings. From there, you can reset the device.

Can the lock factory reset be undone?

No! This cannot be done.

At the moment Android wear is not supported, but it will be in future updates.

Why does Klitron require a firmware update?

Updating the lock’s firmware ensures that the lock will embed new features that will be implemented in the future.

How is a firmware update done?

This can only be done by the administrator. Click on the three dots (…) on the right side to access the settings. At the bottom, you’ll find Advanced Settings. From there, you can see if a firmware update is needed. If so, press the button and follow the instructions.

What is an eKey?

It is the digital version of a physical key which is used in order to authorize a user to access the Klitron.

What are the different types of eKeys?

There are three types of eKeys:

  • The administrator eKey,
  • The Standard eKey, and
  • The Guest eKey.
What is a Guest eKey?

The Guest eKey is able to lock or unlock the Klitron, but does not allow access to the lock’s settings, its historical data, its list of users and its list of notification recipients. It has special access properties, which are specified by a custom access program. Each Klitron may support an unlimited number of Guest eKeys.

What is a Standard eKey?

The Standard eKey is able to lock or unlock the Klitron, and also allows access to the lock’s settings, its historical data, its list of users and its list of notification recipients. Each Klitron may support an unlimited number of Standard eKeys.

What is the Administrator eKey?

The Administrator eKey besides being a fully operational eKey, it is also equipped with the property to perform all the administration tasks as follows:
• User management (Add, Delete, Edit properties etc.).
• Customize the notification system.
• Program and manage Key Fobs.
Each lock may have one and only one Admin eKey.

Can the administrator transfer the administration rights to another user?

Yes of course! When such an action takes place the old Administrator eKey will be automatically changed to Standard.

How can the administrator transfer the administration rights to another user?

This can be done in two ways:

• If the User scans the administration card included in the lock’s package.

• If the Administrator transfer administration rights to another user from the lock’s settings.

Can I change a user’s eKey type after the user is authorized?

The eKey type can be changed only by the administrator at any time.

Can I send an eKey to a someone?

Only the administrator of the Klitron can authorize (add) or remove new users.

How many Klitron devices can I install on a single user account?

As many as you want. There is no limit for that.

Do I need to enroll the Key-Fob on the Klitron?

Yes!

How do I enroll a Klitron Key-Fob to a Klitron?

This can only be done by the administrator. Click on the three dots (…) on the right side to access the settings. Select (+) from the add new Fob menu. This process will not only configure the Key-Fob as a new user but will also ask you to assign it a friendly name. This way, each Key-Fob will act as a separate user with its own name.

Can Klitron be used with a combination of mobile devices and Klitron Key-Fobs?

Of course!

How will I know when to change the battery in the Klitron Key-Fob?

The power level of the Key-Fob’s battery is monitored each time the Key-Fob is used, and it is recorded. Therefore, you can check the remote’s battery in the lock’s settings. Moreover, when the battery needs to be replaced, the fob’s led will turn from green to red.

How do I disable a lost or stolen Klitron Key-Fob from working with my Klitron?

The Administrator of the Klitron can disable a stolen or lost Key-Fob the same way as deleting a user. Remember that the Klitron recognizes a Fob as a separate user.

Will one Klitron Key-Fob work with multiple locks?

No! Each Key-Fob works only with one Klitron.
